I May See You Today in the Tenth Dimension
Though this ostensibly a place to talk about the humanities, I found this ingenious flash app describing the Tenth Dimension on Metafilter today and I wanted to share. What I find particularly impressive is the narrator's ability to stack concepts without losing you (me). He turns everything into dots and lines, while simultaneously multiplying the possibilities for these. What is the Tenth dimension, you ask? All possible universes along all possible timelines, naturally. Some of the more radical concepts in the humanities, such as Lacanian theory, overlap in curious ways with physics principles such as the observer effect, so I'm curious as to where a consideration of string theory could potentially take us word nerds.
