One Sore Man

Besides offering a classic case of a poorly chosen title, this article describes the surveillance of American playwright Arthur Miller during the McCarthy era. The article explains that "the FBI kept records of Miller's political statements and his affiliation with organizations such as the American Labor Party ("a communist front") and the "communist-infiltrated" American Civil Liberties Union" and that his wedding to Marilyn Monroe was attended by an FBI informer. Why, oh why, can't they bring back the days when the pinkos were pinkos and the cars were ten feet wide?

P.S. Click on the pretty car pictures for a trip down nostalgia lane.
