Leonard Cohen: I'm the Man
Actually the new Cohen documentary (reg.req.) by Lian Lunson is called "Leonard Cohen: I'm Your Man," but my title could equally apply. The perennial brat-god is back again, seducing young impressionable minds with soft spoken charm, causing the most highly intelligent critics to gush things like "Even his plainest sentences are phrased like poetry." OOh Len Len. What truly amazes me about Cohen is that his charmer persona has never become a bad joke. It's fine to hate him, it's common to lust for him, but I don't think it's possible to satirize him: such an approach will only send people to his defence, because he's the ultimate wounded man. Poor Len Len.
