Robots Are Now "Freedom Machines"
Additionally, "icebergs" will now be referred to as "freedom floaters" and "french kissing" will now be "freedom kissing." Here's a short Utne article talking about the recent political push in the States to legally enshrine Newspeak as the only available language. Among other issues, the article makes mention of the recent elimination of the Bilingual Education Act, "which encouraged students to study both English and their mother tongue." It also draws attention to the absurdity involved in eliminating non-English languages when English itself is such a mongrel hosebeast.
Another Queen's blogger recently commented on the nutty move by one Philadelphia store owner to ban non-English langauges: "This is America. We're a melting pot. The predominant language here is American." M'kay. What kind of sick intellectual imperialism is going on when so many of the things Americans consume originate from non-English countries? By the way, quesadillas are now "freedom sandwiches" and espresso is now "Bush coffee." Also, the world itself will now be referred to as "Planet Freedom." In fact, don't even talk; we'll talk for you.
AFTERTHOUGHT: "Freedom of speech" will now be known as "thoughtcrime."
